Village Potential (Podes) is the only complete village-level data collection carried out by BPS. The data from Podes data collection is able to describe the potential of a region at the village/subdistrict, sub-district and district/city levels throughout Indonesia. Podes data can be used by various parties who need it. In line with developments over time, the need for regional data and information down to the smallest areas is felt to be increasingly diverse and urgent to be met.
The 2024 Podes Data Collection schedule will be implemented from 2 to 31 May 2024. Prior to the implementation of the 2024 Podes Data Collection, 2024 Podes Officer Training was carried out at BPS Tegal City in a hybrid manner on 24-26 April 2024.
The 2024 Podes data collection this time used CAPI (Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing) Mode, which is a data collection method through direct interviews with respondents using electronic devices such as cellphones.
The aim of the 2024 Podes Data Collection is to produce data for regional development purposes, providing data on regional potential, availability of infrastructure/facilities, as well as socio-economic conditions in each village/sub-district. Meanwhile, the specific objectives of Podes 2024 are:
Availability of data that can support planning activities for the 2026 Economic Census.
As a means of updating the Village Master File (MFD).
Data is available on the existence and development of the potential of the village/kelurahan which includes: social, economic, regional facilities and infrastructure.
Provide data for village typology classification purposes.
As a data source for updating statistical work area maps.Providing basic data for compiling small area statistics.Providing data for the preparation of various analyzes such as identification and determination of disadvantaged villages/sub-districts, context variables in PMT, identification of disaster-prone villages/sub-districts, and identification of villages/sub-districts that have geographical difficulties.Providing data for calculating village development/progress indicators.Podes 2024 will be implemented in all village-level government administration areas including villages, sub-districts, nagari, Transmigration Settlement Units (UPT), and Transmigration Settlement Units (SPT) which are still managed by relevant ministries throughout Indonesia.
